ABOUT THE PHOTOS:
Starting at the top on the right. This is the rare Pony Truss Bridge over the Ware River just northeast of the parking lot on the map. This photo is before it was renovated to be safe for trail use. The bridge historian at Mass DOT told me that it was the last of its type still standing in southern New England.
Next one shows a work party of volunteers for the EQLT renovating the 'bent-timber' bridge on the approaches to the Pony Truss Bridge.
The bottom right photo shows the Lattice Truss Bridge all restored for a winter XC ski trip with friends.
And to the left shows Ed Yaglou, of Wachusett Greenways, working on the renovation of the Lattice Truss Bridge. Ed passed away in December 2019 and we all miss him.
